Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of planting date and the application of different levels of zinc sulfate on the yield and yield components of guar plant, a field experiment in the form of a split plot in the form of a basic design of randomized complete blocks with three replications in the agricultural research farm of Khorram Abad center in the cropping year. 1400 was performed. The experimental treatments include the main plots of three planting dates (May 1, 20, and June 10) and in the secondary plots, spraying zinc sulfate at four levels (zero, 20, 40, and 60 kg of zinc sulfate per hectare) in the form of soil- applied. The results showed that the effect of planting date, zinc sulfate and their interaction on plant height, number of sub-branches per plant, leaf dry weight, specific leaf area, number of pods per square meter, grain yield and leaf area index were significant. . Planting guar on June 10 resulted in the highest number of pods per square meter and the number of seeds per square meter, and the positive correlation between them with seed yield caused the highest seed yield on this planting date to be 3889.7 kg per hectare. Based on these results, it was determined that the highest seed yield was achieved with the consumption of 40 kg/ha of zinc sulfate and the planting date of 10 June, and this treatment can be considered as a practical recommendation in the region.
