. This study was performed to evaluate Effects of seed priming on yield, some morpho-physiological traits of pinto bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars under water deficit stress. drought is one of the limiting factors for bean production in the world, and considering Iran's location in the arid and semi-arid climate of the world and the effects of moisture stress on different stages of growth of this plant, adopting coping methods seems necessary. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of seed priming on yield, some morphophysiological traits, and water use efficiency of pinto bean under water stress conditions. The split-plot experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The experimental factors include drought stress at three levels (control (50 mm evaporation), 75 mm evaporation, and 100 mm evaporation from the evaporation pan), priming at four levels (no prime (control), priming with distilled water, priming with 0.5 mM of salicylic acid and priming with 100 ppm of gibberellic acid. The results showed that treatments significantly affected physiological, agronomic traits and antioxidant enzyme activities. Regarding drought stress, sever stress had the highest reduction of RWC, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll and carotenoids with 19, 27, 29, 28 and 28%, respectively and had the highest reduction of pod per plant, seed per pod, pod yield, 100-seed weight, seed yield, and biological yield values, with 42, 32, 19, 10, , 45 and 15 % , respectively as compared with that obtained in control.
